When I first started homeschooling, I was amazed at the sheer amount of material available to teach your children at home. We had to make a quick decision to homeschool because of one of my twin daughter’s medical issues. https://hidingthepeas.wordpress.com/2013/05/06/why-we-homeschool/ So, there I was in August, before school started, making lists, checking them twice and crunching numbers!
Our budget for homeschool each year varies from about $250 to $500. But, now that we have three older kids homeschooling and a brand new preschooler this year, I am sure the budget will have to increase. We were able to cut down on some costs initially by having my third child share some of the teacher CDs and interactive CDrom curriculum that his twin sisters used. That helps us out a little bit. However, this does not include our added extras like: gymnastics, soccer, baseball, art class at a local art center, homeschool co-op, field trips, etc.
We started in 2006 with twin girls in Kindergarten. My original plan changed throughout the year as we added a few extras, changed math curriculums and otherwise adjusted. But, here was what my first year’s curriculum looked like: Purchased Curriculum 06′-07′
